世界中の多くの国々で
舞台芸術が眠りについてから
長い間の活動延期になっていましたが
少しづつ再稼働し始めました。
まずはドイツのシュツットガルト、
その脚でフランスのトゥルーズへ。
After a long silence of the performing arts in the entire world
some of the rehearsals have been back on the plan.
The first was in Stuttgart
and we travelled directly to Toulouse from there.
実はちょうど2020年の3月に
ドイツが初めてロックダウンを発表した時に
シュツットガルトで新作の準備中でした。
突如リハーサルは切り上げになり、
とりあえず電車で5時間ほどの自宅への
帰路に着く事を優先。
Actually almost exactly a year ago
when Germany has announced the first lockdown
we were creating in Stuttgart.
Rehearsals were suddenly cancelled
Then I have prioritised going back to the home where I base in Germany
Luckily it was only about a 5-hour ride on the train.
デマでしたが州と州の間が
閉まるかもしれないとの噂を聞き
焦ってスーツケースをまとめ
あんなに急いで電車に飛び乗ったのは
さすがに初めての経験です。
It was just a rumour at the end
but hearing the borders between the states may close at any minute
made me rush to pack my suitcase and jump on the train…
I have never packed that fast
ちょうど1年後くらいに再度スタート。
ストップした所からのリハーサル再開は
なんだかオーロラ姫の目覚めのシーンみたいだな〜と。
こちらの写真の
“Bitte nicht stören”
は「静粛にお願いします」のサインですが
よくホテルのドアノブなどにかける
「起こさないでください」にも使われる１行。
スタジオの入り口についているサインなのですが
自分の思考とのズレが面白く…
誰にもわからないですね！

Just about a year after we are now back to work.
Oddly I was in the rehearsal imagining the scene from the Sleeping Beauty
The re-starting our rehearsal from where we stopped
made me think of the awaking of Aurora..
This is a sign on the entrance door of the studio,
the line of this picture
“Bitte nicht stören”
is meant to say
“Please don’t disturb”
Though it always reminds me of the one
which you hang at the door nob in the hotel
meaning to inform the housekeepers
“Please don’t wake me up!”
Made me smile, as it is kind of a contradiction
right at this moment.
